School to Work Program
Program Philosophy Students need to be knowledgeable about the world of work, be able to explore career options and relate personal skills, aptitudes and abilities to future career decisions. Program Description The School-to-Work program is designed for students in grades 9 - 12 who are pursuing an IEP diploma. The program addresses transition skills through the use of classroom instructions, volunteering and structured work experiences. Program Structure Students will participate in a half day program, five days per week. Students will be bussed from RFA to Denti School where the program is housed. Structured work/volunteer experiences will be arranged according to student abilities and interests either within the school district or throughtout the community. **Students will follow the RFA calendar, not Pre-K calendar. Staff A full time certified special education teacher and teaching assistant coordinate the School-to-Work Program and are responsible for classroom instruction, assessment, job placement, weekly monitoring of worksites and vocational support.
